Drought Resilience

Narrandera Shire Council has partnered with Leeton Shire, Griffith City and Murrumbidgee Council to form the Western Riverina Consortium to develop and deliver a Regional Drought Resilience Plan for this region.

The document follows in-person community consultation in July and September, online surveys, research of past drought and policy. Please review this document and provide your feedback on this important matter.

The Western Riverina Consortium's implementation stage will follow once the plan is adopted. The Project Control Group will invite external stakeholders to participate in the group and identify priority projects within the plan, and focus on delivering them. This stage has a grant allocation of $350,000 to be expended by November 2025.

This project is funded by the Federal Government's Future Drought Fund through the NSW Government's Regional Drought Resilience Plan Program.
