Councillor Rouse was elected as one of Narrandera Shire Council's nine (9) Councillors in September 2024.
I grew up and attended school on the South Coast of New South Wales before relocating to Sydney for work in the early 1990s. During that time, I spent over six years with the Commonwealth Government, working at locations such as Sydney Airport and the Lucas Heights Research Facility.
In the late 1990s, I served as a Council Ranger in Bankstown for more than nine years, after which I returned to the South Coast to work for a coastal council for nearly twelve years. Realising I needed a change, I moved to Barellan, where I worked at a local council. Despite my earlier vow to avoid council work, I now find myself in a position to contribute from a new perspective, hoping to make a positive impact.
In early 2022, I took over the management of the Post Office in Barellan, which has proven to be one of my best decisions in a long time. I truly enjoy the community, the people, and the lifestyle here.
During my term on council, I hope to make meaningful improvements to our area.
