At its Ordinary Meeting held 18 March 2025, Narrandera Shire Council resolved to endorse the draft  Narrandera Shire Community Strategic Plan for public exhibition. Submissions on the draft Community Strategic Plan are invited from members of the public until Friday, 18 April 2025.

Policy purpose

Section 402 if the Local Government Act 1993 requires Council to develop and adopt a Community Strategic Plan to inform local strategic planning. The Community Strategic Plan must be reviewed by 30 June following each election. 

The Community Strategic Plan must address civic leadership, social, environmental, and economic issues in an integrated manner, and be prepared in accordance with the Integrated Planning & Reporting Guidelines prescribed by the NSW Office of Local Government. 

Preparation of the draft Community Strategic Plan has been informed by the Stronger Together community consultation undertaken between October 2024 and December 2024. Further information on the community consultation process, including the outcomes report, is available here.

Submissions on the draft Community Strategic Plan are invited and must be received by close of business Friday, 18 April 2025.

Next steps

Following the conclusion of the public exhibition period, Council staff will review all submissions received and prepare a further report for Council's consideration. The draft Community Strategic Plan is scheduled to be considered and adopted by Council at its May Ordinary Meeting.
