Narrandera Shire Council is thrilled to announce the Youth Space at Narrandera Shire Library is now open to our young residents.
Officially opened on Friday 29 November, by Federal Member for Farrer the Hon. Sussan Ley MP and State Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke MP, the Youth Space incorporates areas for collaborative study, meeting and socialising, being connected and chilling out.
Created for Narrandera Shire’s youth, the lounge space provides a place to host programs and workshops with a multifunctional area that can be used for class visits and group activities. It is away from high traffic areas and provides greater flexibility to cater for large groups and diverse activities.
Mayor Neville Kschenka said, “I encourage our young people to visit and take advantage of the new space, which we are very fortunate to have.”
“With each level of Government and the State Library contributing funds towards this project, it is clear that we all eager to invest in our young people and in doing so we are investing in our future. It is critical to the vitality of our Shire, as increasing our services and facilities supports growth and development locally.”
This project was proudly funded in part through the Australia Government Drought Communities Program, the NSW Government Regional Cultural Fund, the State Library through the NSW State Government Library Infrastructure Grant and Narrandera Shire Council.
