Barellan's annual 'Light Up Barellan' event was held last night, as the community gathered to celebrate the start of the festive season. Despite the humid evening, spirits remained high as residents came together to enjoy a variety of activities, music, council-provided BBQ, and of course, the lighting of the Christmas tree.
Mayor Cr Neville Kschenka along with Belinda Douglas performed an array of Christmas carols, later followed by the talented students of Barellan Central School, who added to the holiday spirit with their renditions of festive classics.
The highlight of the evening was the official lighting of the community Christmas tree, which sparkled brightly, symbolising the community spirit.
Mayor Cr Neville Kschenka said, "It was good to see members of our community come together, despite the warm weather. Events like this help bring people together and contribute to the town's sense of community."
