Council Seeks Community Feedback on Future Use of Land at Larmer and Cadell Streets

Narrandera Shire Council is inviting the community to provide feedback on the future use of the land at the corner of Larmer and Cadell (Newell Hwy) Streets, an important location at the southern entrance of the town. As part of the consultation, Council is considering several uses for the land, including signage, sculptures, the installation of an entrance statement or resale.

The proposed entrance statement, one of the options under consideration, would serve as a landmark to welcome visitors and reflect Narrandera's unique identity. However, Council is also exploring other ideas such as creating signage, featuring other types of public art or structures or offering the land for resale. Council wants to ensure that the land's future reflects the desires and needs of the community.

Public consultation is open from 10 March 2025 to 10 April 2025, and Council encourages all interested individuals to share their thoughts.

"We are seeking input from our community on the future of this space," said Narrandera Shire Council Mayor, Cr Neville Kschenka.

"While the entrance statement is one of the ideas that would encourage visitors to stop in town, we want to hear from everyone about the best way to utilise this land - whether that's through signage, sculptures, or perhaps other uses that could enhance Narrandera."

All interested individuals can provide feedback via an online form on Council's website. The deadline for feedback submissions is 10 April 2025.
