Work on the Barellan Sewerage Scheme continues with the final stages of construction of the scheme complete. Approximately 70% of properties have now been connected and are working to expectations.
Contractors are doing restoration works behind the connections and in the laneways that carry the majority of the mains.
The onsite plumbers have been connecting the septic tanks to the system. Some properties have separate grey water systems and, where practicable, have also been connected. However, Council understands that in some cases connection of the grey water will not be practicable. If residents would like both the septic tank and grey water connected, or have issues related to operations and or restoration works, they should contact Council on 02 6959 5510 or council@narrandera.nsw.gov.au and seek an on-site inspection.
Any resident who has yet to pay the connection fee or make an arrangement to pay should do so as soon as possible.
Subject to the availability of tradesmen, it is hoped that the connections to properties will be complete early in the new year.
